Blissful Remains

Soft pink and satin mixed, with shafts of golden hues,

Fill my senses as I in peace, absorb the morning’s clues.

For I watch as a rising sun undresses the night amidst the softly rolling tides.

I swoon and sway as the sounds of day, quickly surpass those of the fading night.

while gulls and loons, and pelicans too filled the sky with the chatter of flight.

Though the beauty of it all beholds this harmonious day,

there are journeys into darker times that must be made.

For dreadful is the coming day,

one so evil, that even those who are faithful will sway.

For there is a man, who shall remain unnamed, who will lead the way

And as thief, he will come bearing lies laced with much grief.

His eyes are black and cold, and hell fills his empty soul,

And with the wave of his hand, he will simply say,

to the unforgiven masses of the now, walking dead….

"follow me"…."follow me to my secret place by the sea”.

A sea that is no longer soft and pink

Or even satin mixed, or glory fed,

but now one that holds our shame and is boiling blood red.

however, it is not to late for this truth to be told

Though know I not, such a man so bold.

So I will just leave it for the time being at this

And watch in silence as the sun undress the night

And I shall enjoy what remains of blissful delight!

This is exactly why we must remain vigilant and aware of our surroundings. There's an overbearing and intense danger of being sucked in by those we think we can trust.
Truly awesome images you've produced Allen. Lisa

Hell and empty souls, sounds like Bush, the warmonger, LOL!

Beyond that political statement, this is a wonderful and very vivid poem, Al, one that i can identify with for some reason, I love the part describing the pelicans, they do not come as far north as NJ, but i have seen them down south, such a sight when only used to seagulls...Peace Found, Ed & Rufuz
