Judgments Abyss, Night Dreams Amiss

by J. Allen Wilson — Read all 1,629 poems by J. Allen Wilson

Saturday, June 5, 2004

The river Styx emptied forth its putrid bowels upon a wilting earth

As harpies of disinformation flew to and fro in their scandalous mirth.

While the children of eternal night

danced in merriment to the demise of light.

For high upon a molten hill, stood Medusa and Circe

With their calling and beckoning of you and me.

For mankind is now bound by their malicious chains,

As soul mongers seek out the righteous to blame.

Yet still they call,

Seeking to devour,

waiting for your fall.

Medusa and Circe,

high upon their hill.

Using their wiles,

to bend your will.

So be silent for awhile,

And keep your light within.

For when hiding in the darkness,

And running from blackest sin,

You can lose it all

when dancing

at the edge of judgments abyss.

 Caro Dio,

 Difendali dall'assalto dei demons ed

aiutili nella nostra ora della morte.

{Dear God, Defend us from the assault of demons, and assist us in our hour of death.}
