A poem inspired by my continuing journey through the low country of South Carolina and Georgia.
The Courtyard Of Almond Moons
A hazy and smiling almond moon,
From behind leafy ficas did loom
Casting surreal and smiling shadows
throughout the windows of my courtyards room.
Down below three fountains spewed and sprayed
as I in their magical effervescence laid
For life has once again smiled on me,
And granted me a taste of Gods external beauty.
For smooth and worn were the red brick tile that lined this way,
as chartreuse hibiscus to southern winds swayed.
Lilies and grass also danced to this whispering unseen tune,
as I in fountains of sparkle smiled back at the almond moon.
