Another installment inspired by my journey through the low country of South Carolina and Georgia. Perhaps I will stay???? Perhaps I will not.
Journey To The Sea
Long gray moss hung like graying beards from the massive oak trees,
as I walked a single and solitary path through palm and ferns to the sea.
Thick and heavy was the air on this glorious southern day,
As off in the distance I could hear the ocean calling my name.
Birds of all colors, they flitted and they pranced
As large gray squirrels from tree to tree did dance.
The loamy white sand lay warm beneath my feet,
as I trekked in natures silence on my journey to the sea.
Snippets of sun through the thick forest canopy did shine,
As I continued my way to the place that in my heart… will always be mine.
For I hear her call my name every single night and day….
Calling for me, saying to my soul, come, come to me and stay.
Sweat and black flies now cling to me like a second skin,
As I break into a clearing I can taste the salt on my lips, and I grin.
For dunes now stand before me, with the sea oats now instead of trees.
I have arrived, hence to this place I came, and glory now do I, for I have at last reached the sea.

It is flowing on the waves of the dreamer's sea, and depicting the refletive time of the Poet's life.
An outstanding composition of a dreaming voyage.
