Another installment inspired by my continuing journey through the low country of South Carolina and Georgia.
Decisions
Alas… upon this wistful southern shore I arrive,
And I on weakened knees fall, and softly begin to cry.
For this of my heart and soul I truly do belong,
Oh this sea of wonder, oh this sea of my home.
For crisp and strong are its perpetual waves,
Which pound upon shore with whisper of my name,
Calling me ever closer, beckoning sweetly unto me,
christening with passions profound, and abilities to set one free.
Yet from distance and road from whence I came,
I hear but the faint sighing of my name.
For it is a cry that I know all too well…
it is the cry of reality in which I used to dwell.
Yet waves of sea, still beckon ever so softly,
whilst reality in softer tempest, assails my sea and me.
Urges abound from all around, for me to return from whence I came,
Yet, the call of the sea continues to speak, and it tells me to remain.
Confusion sets in… for two masters I cannot serve,
For to serve both would but deny all that, I in this life deserve.
Decisions must now be made…
Should I go, or should I stay?
