Spurned

Spurned

And burned,

With lessons never learned

Betrayed

Without

and

Betrayed within.

For my enemies

are my friends.

yet

With

a

sadistic

wickedness

they tell a tale,

all without

a

cause

in which to prevail.

Oh how can this be,

From not one,

But two

which have betrayed me.

for all I have done

To bring them peace,

And share but

A little of me.

Oh spurned

And burned,

At long last

A lesson

Learned.

Amen. The silence at the end of this poem prevails with the loneliness from the heart's yearn.
Excellent poem.

Tell me their names,
I will have their hair turned into manes,
A contract I will put out,
As you are a friend of mine no doubt,
ON the internet will be there names,
As sexual predators, even when no will be their claims...

Never mess with a friend, even if we have never met in person, of mine! Seems to be a lot of paranoia on the den, judged by the responses you got, AL...LOL! Hey, Peace thru Good Friends, Ed & Rufuz (woof)

Lesson 1...... Allen..... is trust no one bar yourself and God...That way you control you own destiny , heart and soul....and are then impervious to pain and anguish...

Their loss is your gain in spirit...

My friend, I can relate to this poem. It touched my heart. I hope you hold your head up and know that it is their loss. Keep your pen flowing, dear friend.

J. Allen, Excellent emotional piece. Strange how our friends and so-called friends can stir up the emotional creativity within us.

Allen, a very heartfelt piece and timeless write, which underscores the emotional wake left by being betrayed, especially by someone close. Excellent work, Poet.

This was sad. I can relate to this. Friends that betrayed their friends are no friends at all. Chin up and walk on and don't look back to those who have betrayed you.

Dear Allen,

Very powerful write,
and so very sad that anyone
should be subjected to such
heartache. Hope you find
peace and comfort Allen.

Warm hugs

Allen... wow. so few words and so powerful a poem. particularly powerful for me tonight as this very day (7/21) is the anniversary of a friend's totally unexpected betrayal, which then led to a series of betrayals in my life from which I'm still recovering and trying to "let it be." so thanks for this on a very personal level. it's well written and meaningful as all your poems, Dawn
