Golden Shells Of Distant Flair
From yonder shore you came,
Across from gulfs aflame
With golden shells of distant flair,
mingled in your flaxen hair.
You smiled a tender smile,
And said you could only stay for a little while.
For you... to your place... you must soon return,
To a land of wonders... that for mere mortals yearn.
With the sound of…..
Your voice, thus carried by the wind, which came in a mellow tone,
A tone that left me chilled
as you recounted to me of the marvel of your everlasting home.
For…….
It was then that I softly cried…
as total recollection came unto me,
Thus in remembrance…thus in sadness of the day you died.
Oh forever am I…forever chained… to this memory
Yet still, you stand before me
with golden shells in your hair
taunting my broken heart
with the unrealized dreams we used to share.
And even though,
I have missed you so,
It was also plain for me to see,
That with me you could no longer stay…
But to your new home, you had to go.
For with the end of this nights dream,
A dream that brought you back to me,
One in which our love foretold,
a dream from across yonder sea.
One with flaxen hair and seashells of gold.

mingled in your flaxen hair. >> working simply and powerfully within the rhyme scheme. Art could be the cover for a poetry collection... is it? great,
