White Flag Of Surrender...By Leah

by J. Allen Wilson — Read all 1,629 poems by J. Allen Wilson

A poem from my wife to fill the gap while I stand in bewilderment before a blank, stark canvas, and wonder...Can I really get two paintings done before the show in September????

PS....I sure do miss you all.

White Flag Of Surrender…By Leah

.........FIRST DIALOGUE:.....

Rebellious wench!!

My mind said to me

Who are you to scream questions

To the powers that be?

To fanatically screech

Why?! Why?! Why?!

To that unknown face at your door?

Are you yesterday's child?

Trying to hide from life's shores

Of conformity?

.............SECOND DIALOGUE.......

Do I know you?

I said to my mind.

Don't speak intrusions

To my arguments of time!

For the spirit knows no age

Nor does it war without cause.

for tomorrow will soon be yesterday,

Win, Lose, or Draw!!

Who was it who said that "a man who finds a wife finds a good thing"? She's got talent. Now you get to work. :-)

Exceedingly wonderfully done! As for the blank canvas, just remember: "Never seek the light at the end of the tunnel; instead, 'be' the light that robs the tunnel of its darkness." The canvas tells a story, the story emanates from your core - become the canvas, and tell your story. -- Jeff

I have faith, Al, in your ability to turn that stark blank canvas into a thing of everlasting beauty, how about something from your travels with the ocean and shore in mind?...and as for this wife of yours, she has a talent herself, she should write more for our perusal, as for now I even miss seeing your name herein...Peace dear friend, Ed & Rufuz

No white flag here Allen...You and your wife are back with a whambeezy bang...

Keep them rolling Allen
P.S.
If you think in your mind that you can complete two masterpieces by September Allen..you will undoubtedly accomplish it with panache
and no little skill..
