Today was a red day
So when I picked up
My beautiful ultramarine blue
My fingers squeezed
Much too hard on the tube.
The paint hit the palette
With such violent force
Then mixed with other colors
Making mud. Vivid hues lost.
Picture of love unpainted.
Tears streamed down my face
Oh God, forgive me!
How can I undo
That which is done?
Gently I touched
My colors of love
Hoping they would reappear.
Oh wretch that I am!
Words all seem so inadequate
As I stare at the empty tube.
I am sorry.
