Words Unspoken

Once solid, but now broken,

I crumble and fall,

before words unspoken.

Once able to withstand,

But no longer… no longer,

because I have become half a man,

for mere slivers remain,

of all my gain.

For I withdraw…

I concede,

I surrender all…

in the face of pain.

All this for words unspoken,

which gives unto this man now broken.

Laying stones to a dying heart,

A life once strong,

Yet now only lived in part.

For I have made my call,

And now…with tears,

And constant fear…

I find my back…

Against the wall.

For a tempest has come

Unto this saddened soul

Tearing asunder…

What once was whole…

All for mere words….

Unspoken.

I always found out that once my back was against a wall my inner strenths grew bolder and my belief became stronger. This is a sad write and it makes me want to cry. I believe. You too!

Allen...When our backs are up against the Wall..It is because God has put us there...And then we see God The Father standing alongside us holding the Lantern of the World..Our Destiny ..

He...And He Alone...Is our Rock and Salvation !!!

Love and best wishes
Peter

Allen, although sometime we as Poets and Writers are drawn into the write as if it were real, I cannot comment based upon this assumption. However, I will say this my friend, you have an extraordinary ability to grab your readers attention in a hurry! Outstanding work! Bravo! Hope all is well. Thank you for sharing your gift.

Allen, When one lives with chronic pain, one learns to concede to it's squeals and squawls. There are times it's almost as though one is scratching the eyes from a blind man. No matter what you do, the pain is still there, and the man is still just as blind.
Excellent metaphors Allen.
