Make Believe

Sweet delirium rested upon my face

Giving me respite from the daily race.

Twisted now I go… on rhapsodies ride,

I smile,

I sigh,

I resign

I give all unto…

the place, where shallow breath resides.

For fever has gripped my mind,

laying unto it hallucinations of time.

Giving to It a place of strange and unruly dreams

Where birds walk and trees scream.

Thus giving voice to a once silent sun,

who now sings melodious trilogies

of a burning life on the run.

Oh yes my sweet delirium,

You are a pleasure to meet,

For one more day,

One more hour,

And I even though shattered

I….

Stand complete.

For through you,

I have tasted of insanity,

And crossed skies of blue,

I have spoke with walking birds

And gave comfort to the screaming trees.

Oh how wonderful all this seems,

When I truly realize

that you did all this for me.

For through rhapsodies ride,

With delirium by my side,

I have at last seen

The land of make believe.

What a wonderful feeling to be abandoned to the moment
and enjoy it for what it is with no regrets! Something
we all hope for at times, just to be!...Great write J Allen!

There is nothing wrong with this land Allen...
It is a welcome respite and sanctuary to be at one with our essence..
Thought provoking composition..

The land of make believe used to be such a fine place, when kids we could go there and hide from the truths of reality, but it seems that kids nowadays no longer use this land, no imagination anymore...

It is up to us, the "older" generation to keep the land open for all,
and you have started the process herein with this imaginative poem, Al...I for one, enjoyed learning of YOUR personal piece of real estate on that special land...Find Peace thru Imagination, Ed & rufuz
