Shallow

And Deep…

Narrow

And wide…

Are the lost dreams

Found in a beggars pride.

For never before…

And forever more,

Will misery

Unto this soul keep.

As to this world

And yet unto another,

Lay the remains

Of a wife…

And a Son…

A father and mother.

For all is temporal in this fragile world

Yet still, all is built on the facet of forever.

One where time has not an end,

And sleep along with never is your friend.

However, sleep you see, is a thief

That claims those

Who unto themselves

Tread the abyss

Between the rim

Of heaven and hell.

For in this nocturnal realm,

We kiss the lips of death,

With each labored breath.

We challenge the world of grace and fate,

And per chance we will awake

to see the dawning of another day.

So lest I be Shallow

And never so Deep…

Nor should I be Narrow

In the wide of ways that keep

I will continue in these lost dreams

Found deep beneath this beggars pride.

Oh…

I just closed my eyes…
