Oh Keep The Faith

Oh Keep The Faith

Hot

Unfulfilled

And consuming

Anger.

Ever taut

And ever

looming.

So out of control,

To losing my soul

Against bastions

Of faltering faith.

For witness of

A dying love,

Gives one over

To a burning hate.

I must deride,

I must overcome

And hide,

For I cannot wait,

I have lost it all

And all

Is exaggerated waste.

Anger,

Rage

Unholy fury.

I cannot explain

 To captured spirits

Shackled in pain.

No more,

Oh no more

Can the mind take.

For there is a thing

That cannot be undone

As no man

Has ever fought this battle

And won.

So why should I

Be ashamed

When fighting

Darkness

At his own game.

So keep the faith

Oh keep the faith,

For I must trust

And not falter

so close to the gate.

Yeah though…

How

When

How much longer

Must I wait?

For I am now

On broken feet

Crippled

Saddened

And weak.

Oh, keep the faith

I hear my

Blubbering lips say,

As I crumble unto

Grains of sand

And join my brethren

mired in the darkened clay.

Allen, this is an exceptionally deep painful illustrious composition my talented friend. It is very often easy to succumb to the dark side, yet it’s even easier to walk in the brilliant light of life with one’s head held high, knowing that one has put forth the best effort one can by the playing the hand that was dealt. I enjoy reading your timeless creations Master Poet. Thank you for sharing your astonishing work. Take care and be well.

A spiritual warrior draws his strength and perseverance from the wells of the Saviour...which are inexhaustible and eternal...

We march on with renewed confidence and vigour...unbowed and unabashed...

BE STRONG AND RESOURCEFUL IN GOD , ALLEN

Al, I have to say, I am not sure I have seen you write such a sad poem before, although you write some powerful ones, the sadness in this one seems to seep thru...hope you & the other half are both well and finding Peace, Ed & Rufuz

felt the anguish dripped onto the page. hold on to the hope that there are others who would stand with you. (p.s. i think these kind of honest writes about significant spiritual battles are increasingly important in our day and time)

J Allen this is so profoundly sad! Though a beautiful composition
of dark poetry, still I hurt for the pain I sense you feel.
My thoughts and prayers are with you!
