Broken Sand And Golden Castles
I reached out my hand into the approaching night
And plucked the rising moon from the sky with all its shimmering light.
I held it close to my ever groaning heart,
All whilst praying in silence that you and I never part.
I smiled a soft smile, as soft as the light, which I held.
For it were through shadows and ocean swells…
that you appeared quietly unto me.
I watched you as you walked out of the rolling sea.
Your feet were fixed, and standing now on broken sand,
your eyes calling…calling unto me.
Calling for me to come and take your hand.
For you captured my soul as your eyes wove their spell.
and swaying now was I before your sight,
I gave myself over to your longing but silent plea.
I glanced at my hand held moonlight
And ever so gentle and with total ease,
I opened my hand and set it free.
Now glories light filled the once darkened sky
And the broken sand beneath your feet turned to crystal
right before my very eyes.
And the sea, the once mighty sea,
With all of its angry swells,
Had changed into golden castles
Adorned with ringing silver bells.
Now you,
Now I,
Here together,
Forever,
Preordained
to this sweet by and by.
For to hold our love in,
Is a grievous sin,
For It needs to be set free,
So that broken sand
Can become crystal beneath your feet,
And that dark angry ocean swells,
Turn into golden castles,
Adorned with ringing silver bells.
