Balconies Of Blue

I stand on balconies

of blue tomorrow.

Grieving this empty space,

In hearts of sorrow.

Living a life

Without your grace,

Lost in the blackness

Of a broken hearted race.

Oh balconies of blue

Oh missing you,

Even sand and sea

Can do naught to please.

For loves place

Has found darkness

Without your face.

Never thought,

Never tried,

Yet saddened

Heart now cries.

Cries in longings

For you,

Cries in pain

On balconies of blue.

Though moons still rise,

And the seas tides flow

With sands ever shifting

My wailing wind doth blow.

Directions unknown

Into the blackness alone,

Gone…

Oh forever gone,

On these balconies

Of blue.

*Footnote*

God knows the hearts cry of man,

God knows the sighs held within.

God knows the truth behind these balconies of blue,

So therefore, I request earnest prayer from all of you.

For God knows……

Thank you; J. Allen Wilson

So achingly sad and yet the footnote offers hope. So many of us with the heart of a poet understand the pain of loss and the anguish and sorrow this brings but our capacity to love brings hope.
Thank you for an oustanding poem.

standing on a balcony, looking out over the blue horizon, offers perspective as you look into the direction of possibility and what has been lost ...

Allen, a plea for inner peace? Yes, you've detailed the churning inside with great thoughts and theories.
One can never pray too often and one can never wait too long for the answer.
Excellently written!
I will pray.
