On Yonder Shore
I have but one life to live,
And it is to you my love, my life I give.
Though enter now the darkness
And pierce most brutal storm,
I shall give all of me unto you
For you are the reason, I was born.
So fear not the tempest
Nor of its encroaching tide,
For I will save thee
From the shadows
Which now walk by your side,
I…I, in purest of love
Will with wholeness of heart …
Surrender my life that you may live.
So bring unto me,
The hurt…
The pain…
and disease.
For my love for you is pure
It is fresher than a new fallen snow.
And I without hesitation
am willing of my own life to forego.
So smile your tender smile
And toss back your golden hair.
Live…oh live, your life without care
For soon it will be time,
for this bartered spirit of mine
to sail on to yonder shore,
and it is there I will wait
by heavens gate,
For the coming in of a future time
the only true love of mine.
