Sing High…Sing Low

Stolen visions, soiled by shallow minds,

Lives forsaken on gypsies' wine,

Toils and misery filled of fear

giving widows weeping

their silent keeping.

as our times of troubles

grow forth in this forgotten year.

while our hearts fail with mounting dead,

and our children fighting

Where black angel's tread.

Cheap and unholy wine

Now passes the kings lips,

As reality fades

with his sinking ship.

So sing high…sing low

Raise the standard

Let-em rip

Let-em blow,

Give up the ghost,

Lest we boast,

For the streets are now red,

where stinging serpents

their skins did shed.

as now they take on a new and deadly form,

Passing off death and violence

as the purity of norm.

so sing high and sing low,

 the time has come

for us all to go.

Yours is about the most real poetry I read, Allen. Thought-provoking and well-penned.

Deeply disturbing J Allen though beautifully written.
I think we should all face the facts, we are in "His Time"

I am ready to go while swinging high and low, and singing, but mostly low, as I am a baritone or bass...Ed

"Sing High...Sing Low" brings a message that glows in the readers' hearts. A poem to cross the gates of the millennia.

I enjoyed reading and learning
from the lines of "Sing High...Sing Low".

Thank You, Poet!
