My Eyes Have…Seen
My eyes sting from the things that I have seen,
With their visions of sorrow poured hot from liquid dreams.
Oh be still my fainting heart, for I now grow weary and weak.
For my soul shudders and fails quick from such wicked a sight
Of the smoldering pyres burning in madness beneath my feet.
For these once great cities of this evil temporal world
Lay now like black ghost in a cold and silent swirl.
whilst high above the putrid smoke of death,
Swim the dark apparition's of a more sinister breath.
Oh, for I have seen the blackness of this day
As my wretchedness bore witness to the multitude in its sorrows
For in this evil that is done,
mans recompense has now come his way.
Not long, not far in our run,
We all shall see
The days run red,
As fear conquers faith
in face of
the innumerable dead.
Oh Lord…
My eyes.

[hope you are keeping warm, it is 9 here and looking at a "blizzard" this evening, and I get to drive a couple hundred miles through it...I just love the snow]
aware of how important knowing the light is...Splendid poem!
