He

by J. Allen Wilson — Read all 1,629 poems by J. Allen Wilson

I have been a little under the weather the last few days...however it gives one time to reflect.

Tuesday, March 29, 2005

HE

He knows our weakness, He knows our very frame,

For He remembers that it was from the dust of the earth we came.

He knows our most inner being

He is attune to our thoughts, and desires…

He is everywhere and therefore all seeing.

For He knows when this soul of mine does cry…

And He has all the reasons as to why.

He gives me peace with the tenderness of His touch.

He loves me unconditionally, though I do not deserve it that much.

He is all before there ever was, He is all there will ever be,

He is Lord of all, Master and Holy King.

So why should it be, that He…cares for me?

For I am nothing more than the dust of this land,

A mere shadow that passes within times span.

A frosty glimpse of breath across a thousand skies,

A whisper in a field of lilies as they fade and die.

For I am weak, and He is strong

And I exist in my shortcomings everyday,

Yet, its His grace which becomes my song.

So unto this I shall always sing,

For I am the servant, and He my King.

Therefore and Even though my days

Often time be filled with death and despair,

I can look unto the heavens,

and know that He…my God, cares.

So good to come back to God's lovingkindness and compassionate care, isn't it? Wow... I'm not feeling well either, though I'm back and that's something. Is there some sort of poet's affliction going 'round? Be well... Dawn
