Our Wish For You

I write this in slight departure from my usual verse and rhyme,

However, it is something that that I feel appropriate given the day and time.

For it is today that we pay homage to our Mothers everywhere

And let them know how much we love them and how much we care.

Yet, often, we find ourselves caught up in our own ever so busy ways

And we neglect to realize the real importance

of ensuring our blessings to Mom on Mothers Day.

Though we may make our obligatory, perfunctory call,

We know that in our heart of hearts…we failed to give our all.

Now what of this I may hear some say,

we have done our duty and now we are on our way.

However, to this emotion I find much distress,

For there are those of us who would consider this blessed.

Blessed indeed to have one more chance….

 Granted a sweet favor to just say hello,

to hold their hands to see their face….to share one more dance.

For there are many who will face a Motherless day,

Be it by selfish choice, or be it by the grasp of the grave.

Now to you all, to whom I share much of my life, through my many writes

It is my honest hope and hearts my wish for all of you,

that if by chance that your mom is still around.

That you will take heart of this day,

 and for her…make it genuinely profound.

I shall also in open truth, wish to you all…

Mothers…daughters who are now mothers in their own right,

That my wife and I wish you a Happy Mothers day full of glories light.
