Intro And Poem From My Darling Wife Leah

In my studies of psychology and sociology, I gained knowledge of human instincts and those patterns of development that are associated with human interactions and relationships. Society sets the standards for norms or what is considered to be called normal based solely on the evidence in the number of people in which those certain likenesses occur. Abnormal, therefore, is the occurrence of standards happening in the least number of people. Consequently, in reality, there are no "norms", only that there are more people doing certain things the same way, behaving themselves in the same way (as society dictates), or saying (writing) words in a "taught" manner, or mode of acceptance. In conclusion, it is my observation, that the truly "greats" of this world, are the people that have left the "norms" of our society and not been afraid to do, see, or say things that have been totally different from what the rest of society has done, seen, or even said in times past. They have not been afraid to be different from the rest of us; and yes, they have stood apart from us. I have to admit that separateness takes a fortitude, and courage, that I dream of possessing. Viva La Deference!

BOB DYLAN AND ED MATLACK

Here's to you Bob Dylan

My favorite poet and songster

Though your stories be melancholy

You've succeeded with glowing luster.

Yes, somehow, you've managed

In spite of your difference

To upstage the best of those

Who have perfect rhyme and meter.

It's true that most your lyrics

Are hard to put to music

But you wrote with your inborn talent

And with a uniqueness that's you....You Did It!

You showed them all, Bob Dylan

You grabbed and held the golden ring.

Fame and fortune bow before you

The whole world loves to hear you sing.

Right there with you, is Eddie M.

And Rufuz, his alternate, who also writes.

Both unique in their style of delivery

And in their ability to charm and delight!

So, here's to you Eddie M.

Poet, philosopher, humorist, and friend

We lift this cup of honor to you

The Bob Dylan of the Author's Den.

In view of some rather unkind comments recently directed at our very own Eddie M, your poem is timely as well as absolutely true... he is a bit of our own Dylan. Both are storytellers, both break down walls and go where lesser poets won't or can't trod.

Yep... as a friend, I can tell you that this will have moved him to tears, so unaware is he of his own worth here in AD. I believe you have spoken for many of us here. Brava, Bravo and I do think Dylan, the great master of words, would love Eddie as we do.

Holy Smokies this made me cry....wish I wrote this...but I only know Ed and Rufuz ans have no Idea who Bob is for certain....heard of him but honestly don't know him. All I know he is one of Eddies Inspirations in life!!

What a beautiful and heartwarming tribute to a very fine "Family member and friend" Eddie M!!

OMG, my tears they are a'flowin'...
My inability to speak is a'growin'...
Though no one will believe me being unable to speak,
Of this honor,
In the future I will try not to dishonor,
The memory of this most wonderful poem,

I Love the intro Leah. It is so true We are all different but it's those who dare to show their differences of being an individual that are the ones noticed I loved it thank you so much!! and as for you Allen weeelll.........
