Oppressions Steed

Oppressions Steed

 Pushed, pressed, folded and bent.

Reaching limits, with resources spent.

More… more and more

 Comes life's ludicrous demand,

Bringing undue vexation to already crippled hands.

Hands that bleed, Hands in need,

Hands without hope from oppressions steed.

For hope is now betrothed unto helplessness

Uniting the mind, which already grieves.

Nothing more to be done,

Little if anything left to be said,

For clouds of somber recollections

Have released the sadistic furies

from the chambers of the dead.

Pushed now is he

This servant

This humble spirit

Who hath given all to those in need.

Oh, pushed now is he,

Beneath the hooves

Of oppressions steed.

slip out from under that oppression when you can if you're really there. your words really tell it like it is, Allen.

the tone and imagery you have so eloquently expressed, embellish the overall affect of this most excellent poem ... life can indeed run over us sometimes ... it's stride oppressing our inner movements ...

i hope this is just a great piece of poetry and not a piece of your life..but if it is, remember that there is always up and away from those hooves

Poet, very often one finds themselves in a unique situation, which demands more and more, and it frequently appears there’s no light at the end of the tunnel nearby. Memories often wrecks havoc on ones being, and yet without them, one cannot find the direction needed to overcome the many obstacles which are placed in front of ones path towards ones journey of jubilation. Furthermore, it seems as though ones “Honey Do List,” is never quite completed … lol. It is always been a pleasure to read your work, my gifted friend. Thank you for sharing it. Take good care and be well.
