Veiled Mystery

Behind walls, men go blind. In the face of true freedom, they slowly lose their mind.

Veiled Mystery

She smiled from behind mysteries veil

With that penitent look, I knew so well.

I said nothing, and she wholly agreed

Then she said something that I couldn't believe.

Time has come she said for you to bid all goodbye,

The time has come… to bring ease to your troubled mind.

So therefore, hesitate not and take hold of my hand,

And I in silent shelter shall lead you to your promised land.

Halt, come no more… and venture to me not I said

For I am not ready to take of my leave

Nor am I to declare defeat by begging of pauper's bread.

So, take thee now unto thyself, and grant of me this reprieve.

For I have already borrowed heavily of yesterday

and paid exceedingly in return, by my tomorrows leave.

So spread thy wings oh veiled mystery

and catch the winds of dubious change.

Come back to me when my time is due

And only then, shall you

Deliver me from this existence of heartache and pain.

Exquisite poem Allen. Really grabs hold of my hand and walks me right through all this life you've written. The intro is as excellent. Love it!! really deep methodical and spiritual.
Beautiful! *****

Allen a poem so utterly gothic I feel like I'm walking in a graveyard in dark shadows as wispy unknown things brush past my face,
and the dew creates a damp chill. Excellent write!
