The Hafaza
Al-Iman
Her large brown eyes had shed a thousand tears,
As she lay crippled amid ruination and misguided fear.
Her darkness closed in at a much hurried pace
And she spoke softly of home and seeing a strangers face.
I held her quivering bruised body so close to mine,
I wept openly and boldly for this only child of mine.
"Boppa, oh boppa, please do not leave me now,
For without your presence,
I fear that Maalik will find me somehow.
"Iman oh iman… my darling little one said I.
Fear thee not for the day or of approaching night
for I am and will always be to you ever near,
I will hold you in my heart till the end of time
And by my kiss, I will absolve thy fear.
She smiled a little through her pain,
while I watched, as her, spirit slowly did wane.
I kissed her softly on her tear stained cheek
And told her that in paradise we both would meet.
Then with one final sigh,
She said I love you…I love you so…
And quietly in the dust of the street…she died.

This is a touching-teaching inspiring composition. From the first verseline to the closing one,
the voice of compassion and love is
heard.
I enjoyed the reading of "The Hafaza -Al- Iman", a true poetic grand.
