Just For You

If I could just buy back yesterday,

I would paint you a new tomorrow.

I would color it with the colors of joy

and erase all the lines of sorrow.

For of this day on a canvas anew,

I would recreate what was lost… just for you.

I would paint our ocean walks on a moonlit beach

I would paint for you all that you could not reach.

With a brush and palette secure in my hand

I would form the different hues of the shifting sand.

And upon these dunes so tall, so very high,

I would blend and mottle the colors of the evening sky.

Though our yesterday has faded like this evenings light,

Though our tomorrow is still distant and separated by the night,

I can and will from within my mind,

Fashion you yesterday from the recesses of time.

For you are my inspiration which knows no bounds

And with your love ever present, my days with you are never lost,

Simply because you are around.
