The Beginning Of Days

by J. Allen Wilson — Read all 1,629 poems by J. Allen Wilson

And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
Revelations 6: 13-14

The Beginning Of Days

On torn veil, truth is revealed,

 Broken redemption now sealed.

For it is unto this darkness,

 That perdition doth lurk.

For to glories quest it seeks

Through withal to defiance usurp.

For the charlatans of mystery remain,

And the black masses crow loudly

In mute effort to defile His name.

As they in their victory's rambled ruse,

Build white silence upon the cathedrals of shame.

 Spires point heavenward,

Old gray men steal into the night

With black frocks cloaking their hearts disdain,

Chasing false teachings

 Scourging the latter rain.

Days are a coming, where the night creeps in,

and the burden of light falls prey to sin.

The veil asunder, the firmaments fill with wonder,

as the beginning of days begins once again.

“And the earth was without form, and void;

and darkness was upon the face of the deep”

Genesis 1:2

Through the darkness, I most love your giving us the consistent perspective that the end is also the beginning. Masterful piece!

Such a beautifully written piece about ultimate truth. We indeed are in the last days. Prophecies are being played out.

I sadly believe that those days have already arrived, J. Allen. Quite a powerful piece here.

Deep and dark as the book of revalations itself, this poem truly sets the mind to thinking of the wickedness of mankind and thinking of ways to change. Well written with great introductory quotes and wild imagery.

I eco Peter's words. We are upon the edge and as we teeter your word here will give us the strength to take on this new day. I am without fear this morning. I welcome the Messiah and prepare for His coming.
Well done Allen.
Peace with you,
Susan
