Jeremiah’s Sacred Ground
You sighed, and I wept beneath the transitory sky.
Winged omens whispered…
and desperation was their cry.
My tears fell unheard upon the emptiness of Jeremiah’s sacred ground.
My heart imploded from the external sadness
and fell waste to the fleeting day without sound.
The shallowness of your breath crept weak upon my ear
and the foreknowledge of the nothingness came lame unto me disguised as fear.
I whimpered…I begged, I openly cried…
I pleaded mercy as I in liquid absolution gave up hope
as the spirit of all that was good slowly died.
Oh pity now this day as I watch in the silent rain
Oh pity it all as I watch it wash away…
Washing away without a trace, the love which fell from grace,
washing it all away into the barrenness of Jeremiah’s sacred ground.

An utter symphony of belief and trust in the Lord God of Israel..
Your faith is astonishing, and your contrition is exemplary !
