Yesterdays Words

How worn by time are the words of which we speak.

Tattered are they in their salutations of faith and remembrances of life’s grief.

Repetitions in joy overshadowed and burdened by life’s sure sorrow.

Likened are they to screen shows which depict the coming morrow.

Where though shall I turn to escape this destinies path?

for I am devoured by the words of yesterday

as they creep like clinging vines from the past.

Your soulful and thought provoking writes are reminiscent of the great prophet Issaih's great teachings from the heart !

I love the opening lines of this and the truth that sometimes words are worn and finding the right ones seems impossible. Good work.

But you've taken those vines that to all of us cling, and produced a masterpiece: that will allow us to, take the past into tomorrow in a new and shining way, As history, begets the future, If we learn from our mistakes. But all of us are doomed to repeat, the things we'd as soon forget, while we're in this place, and not with Him, yet. Our sorrows and our joys, our whole life thru, come rushing back to warn us, or prod us on our way. To that place where wisdom replaces, opines, of a younger day. Art A masterful write.

Rich and deep J. Allen. Reflections always make for excellent poetry when the poet has soul like you.
