Shekinah Glory

From dreams wide awake came this vision of mine to partake.

Fitful sleep fled swift with approaching light

as did the darkness which cuddled this simple night.

Brilliancy shone forth beyond compare

while darting angels pierced the passionate air.

I hid my face as it were from Him, and I shielded my smoldering eyes.

Yet still the kevod ha- Shem

 (The Glory Of God)

singed the recesses of my mind.

I then heard the calling of my name, as the voice of a thousand seas,

the voice YEHOVAH God called forth, oh calling out for me.

“Here I am Lord, I heard myself say, here am I oh Lord…here I am.

So say now unto me oh Lord, Is this my hour, is this my day?

Has the time now come to which my sprit should fly away?

Silence whispered and then that I fell like water upon the clouds of a latter rain.

In spirit, I melded with exuberant intensity at the feet of this eternal flame.

Time evaporated silently now as millenniums hastily sped by.

Stars and planets now fell quietly away as I hurtled through space

with His Shekinah Glory forever by my side.

I…Oh I…could now hardly believe…

of this transformation for mine eyes to see.

For what now lay in the mist on clouds of gold,

was the jeweled city of ages for my eyes to behold.

A river of crystal coursed the streets both narrow and wide,

and I soon beheld the beautiful souls of all that had died.

I turned but a little and I looked back as if to speak

and the vision vanished, save the crystal candle

and bejeweled crucifix that lay at my feet.

OH GOD…was this for me?

Great poem. I wrote one with same title nearly two years ago now, it is a critical subject, and requires an inspired pen, TY for your take on the Lord, "THE SHEKINAH GLORY".
