An Open Letter To Leah

My dearest Leah, if I had a hundred lifetimes to live,

I would never be able to say by word nor pen…how much I love you.

There have been many trials in our life together in which we have faced.

And many, many journeys of joy that we have shared in loves tender embrace.

The times, oh they have been good, and we in our spirit grow closer each day.

Often when I awake before you, I will just stand and watch as you softly sleep.

I will say a prayer of thanks to God, and rejoice in my heart that you are mine to keep.

Sometimes I will stroke the golden tresses from around your face,

and I will see the essence of true love born unto you by His grace.

I just love you so much and long to spend my every breath of this life with you.

Though many years have come and gone, and time keeps marching on…

 I still remember vividly the day that we met and how it seems like it was only yesterday,

 I have watched tenderly with all my heart as you grow more beautiful in every way.

For you see, it is like this my love…and I just want you to truly know

that I am and always will be with you and all my love to you, I do bestow.

If I could but reach out and steal the sun, I would surely do so for you.

For I would then take its golden rays and paint you a world smiles,

I would drop all of its golden kisses along your journeys path

 that even the darkest of your days, your way would shine for miles.

I would also in this verse, like to say this unto you,

I know that here of late I have been despondent and a bit blue.

For often in my maddening rush to get from here to there

I will too often neglect to say… how happy I am in this life that we share.

So please, my love, forgive me, and forgive for all that I say wrong or do.

For if I had a hundred lifetimes in which to live,

I would pray that every second they be spent with you.

For don’t you see Leah, it is like this…I just love you so….
