The Calling Of Evil

by J. Allen Wilson — Read all 1,629 poems by J. Allen Wilson

Still there are those who refuse to see…then again, perhaps it really is as some suggest…just another in a series of bad dreams.... (Sigh...I grow weary now)

The Calling Of Evil

Summer’s warm twilight taunts this restless evening time

as fearless gypsy moths of Sundays sultry shadow

hurl themselves upon a faint light which in the darkness shines.

Dust from their shattered wings floats gentle into the night air

and crickets on promenade chirp their summer serenade without care.

A crescent moon appears bright above wispy linen clouds.

and upon the forest glen fair maidens of forgotten chance

dance giddy beneath the rush of a blood soaked shroud.

A slithering laughter crawls unencumbered across this desperate forest floor,

crawling up and over the seven thrones of the seven kings of desecrations war.

A million mute men now wailing, and all without eyes to see

march on without question to the beckon of these seven kings.

Onward into this summers perilous night,

onward into the destruction of ignorance and plight.

Onward like the gypsy moth…drawn by evils light…

Ashes now unto ashes…as remains are drawn unto the dust of mankind

Spectacular Truth, Allen! It is IN THE AIR....BECAUSE SATAN WAS GIVEN POWER TO RULE THE AIRWAVES, AND THOSE OF US WHO HAVE EYES TO SEE AND EARS TO HEAR, KNOW...YOU ARE AN AWESOME POET AND BROTHER IN CHRIST! THANK YOU FOR YOUR BOLDNESS: THE SOLDIERS OF THE CROSS MUST GATHER AND MOVE IN ONE ACCORD NOW, TOO, EVEN AS THE EVIL SERPENT OF "SLITHERING LAUGHTER" YOU DESCRIBED. AWESOME, THE LORD'S ANOINTING ON YOU! my prayers & love ~ your Sister-In-CHRIST, rhonda

The onset and onslaught of evil and wickedness is both inexorable
and inevitable...
You have the eyes and ears of a New Testament Prophet..
All praise to the Most High !

Truly powerful, J. Allen - but I also truly wonder if those still blinded will ever choose to see.

Intense and deeply strong write that reverberates with the sound of past battles on a summer breeze. Well done.

Allen I'm always amazed by the brilliance of your imagery. This poem especially is outstanding! I agree we are seeing more of the dust of mankind, as evil abounds...
