Damn The Darkness

Two weeks gone and no end in sight…yea but for this shallow reprieve…Oh God, I am truly losing the fight....

Damn The Darkness

Damn the darkness of spirits most foul,

curse infirmities which cleave of sheol and its house.

For the bitterworm of loathing is now to this day born

as are they who are so contrite in their sanctimonious scorn.

Therefore damn this darkness and its minions of night,

and curse their companions who carry their light.

Deliver us now from their foul and most evil breath.

Bring us all into shelter now by this pitiful request.

For they are the purveyors of this sordid dream

who in false witness impishly connive and scheme.

They claim to come with hope and light in hand,

yet instead of radiant glory, they give darkness to the land.

So damn this darkness which has come to blind me

and curse the bearers of this false light

as they in their hypocritical way impugn those who are truly free.

This extarodinary psalm is, I feel, its own response to the agony of which the poet sings. The soul that empowered these lines with truth is also the channel through which peace, healing, and reprieve may arrive. That power is one's gift of freedom to one's self.

Sounds like someone has been hurt badly. Sad and unfortunately so true for all of us at one time or another.
