Tick…Tick…Tick
With every ending there comes a new beginning.
And as with all new things, the uncertainty is often overwhelming.
Therefore I strike against the irons of this cruel bondage
and pray to the Lord that He loosen the chains that bind in fear.
For this coming change is inevitable as fate kisses me softly in the night.
Oh how I whimper in silent confusion, as my heart fails me in strength.
I know they say that fear is the opposite of faith…
and I say, if fear were but mere pennies on this one way street,
then by it I would be rich.
So therefore by this I should just accept this kiss?
for I have neither the strength nor courage it takes to fight any longer.
And to those who know me, to those who say they care,
I truly and in an earnest heart say…thanks for being there.
The day is not yet done,
and it still remains my hope though small as it seems to be…
that even through it all…I shall still see the light before a setting sun.
Tick…tick…tick,
goes the day.
Somber lines
with shades of grey.
Tick…tick…tick
goes today’s hope,
cascading in its delusions
upon times slippery slope.
tick…tick…t…ick
go I…

If fear were pennies we would all be rich. If faith were pennies we would all be grabbing for them.
