Vanities Claim

by J. Allen Wilson — Read all 1,629 poems by J. Allen Wilson

Many people live their entire life chasing an elusive dream, many build their house on the foundation of mans adulation only to realize that in the end their house is empty as a midnight breeze. Therefore love everyone you see as if this was your very last day. Live your life for others and not for self. For quickly the tide turns and we too will face the hill of silent regret.

Vanities Claim

Thousands upon thousands return to the earth each day.

Their lives quietly vanquished, as the memory of their journey softly fades away.

For many there are which will go forth into this journey of death,

only to fall short and prostate upon  the numerous hills of this silent regret.

Oh perished now are they into a land which knows not night nor day,

their lives unfulfilled by the virtue of their vanities perpetual claim.

For it is by mankind’s desires that he fails to truly see

that his life will always come up empty in effort to fill vanities need.

Therefore seek the tenderness of His love by eternal grace.

For thosr who are materialistic...those material things own them. The pricelessness in living is how open your heart is to those with less. God loves a passionate giver too. Your words of wisdom are just what we all need everyday.
Thank you.

This was a masterpiece. It drove me downward and downward and just when I thought it could go no lower it did not disappoint me. Instead it lead to the Master who lifts us all up.
BEAUTIFUL!
God Bless,
Lew
