Heavens Gate

 She whispered “it’s so pretty”

The monitor blinked, her vitals spiked.

“Do you see them”?

Eyes starring gray,

Eyes unmoving and blank.

“It’s all so pretty “she whispered again.

Machines hummed, my heart sank.

“Look, see all the colors and how they shine”

A nurse drops a tray,

And I weep for the coming time.

“Are you there”? She muttered,

“Are you there…for I cannot see.”

“I am said I, I am, and will always be.”

Monitor beeps…lines fall straight.

Another angel goes home

And stands ready by heavens gate.

This poem touched me deeply, Allen. The way you've written it, who could be sad ... it gives me hope and I think it's a beautiful poem.
Hugs and respect,
CJ

It sounds sad but is a happy time. Beautiful write. Jesus said we should rejoice when someone is called home.

Oh Allen:

This one gives me goosebumps because it is so moving and beautiful. I truly believes in it. You have captured the moment so well, though I know it is sad when one leaves, yet wherever she is going would be surrounded by beauty.
