No Room For China At The Inn…

Just two more days and we are on our way,

but poor little China still has no place to stay.

I have searched and called both shelters and homes,

and yet to have found a safe haven for China at all.

There may be some of you that still recall,

 it was just four weeks ago that this little kitten was lost.

We brought him in from the darkest of night.

We brought to an end his little lost kitty’s plight.

Yet now has the time for us finally come

that Leah and I go on vacation and have some fun.

Although for the first time in 15 years

it will not be Tybee Island for us to revere,

The rates have gone up much too high,

even though this summer I worked plenty of overtime.

So further south we shall go

to another little island where the rates are still low.

Yes, oh yes, just two more days

and out on Jekyll Island we will  catch some rays.

Ah, but pity, ah but hearts despair,

what will we do with China for it seems no one else does care.

I guess we could just slip him into the room,

but that would not be right since the no pets rule does loom.

I guess my fear is that he will be just put all alone in a tiny little cage

and with my slippers he will not be able to play.

And pray tell, who is it that I might say,

Who is it that will sing to him like Leah does in her special way?

Oh if you could only see what China does when she sings…

“Just Daddy and me, and China makes three…

were happy in our blue heaven.”
