Charlie and I…poets from way back when.
Strangers we were… yet brothers.
I know that I will see you someday again.
For Charlie M.
A friend and mentor separated now by a distant star.
Gone from the memories of many, but always in my heart.
Your courage was a wonder to behold as you fought with disease.
Yet His assurance you had found when you of last spoke to me.
I miss you Charlie, I miss you so bad.
You were indeed a Man among men
and the years since your parting still leave me sad.
So bless you Charles and say hello to God for me.
For I know that you knew what it took to be truly free.

Singing Pines That Now Cry
Angels whisper,
Children sleep,
Another passing,
More tears to weep.
Burdens on weary heart,
playing on memories fast,
As another friend of mine departs.
For lines blur on times glance,
With its speeding suns
spurred by life's chance.
Oh silence now
The singing pine,
As I pause
To reflect
In somber mood,
This passing of a man so fine.
So Gods speed now unto thee
Held not by earth or sea
Bound no more,
By flesh nor pain,
Upon this earthly shore.
For heaven bound
Does his spirit rise,
Onward into an eternal peace,
Beyond our mortal eyes.
Onward to heavens shore,
Onward to happiness evermore.
Onward, and away
From where once singing pines
Now cry.
