Sixteen Mile Road

I can almost see the light now at the end of this dusty road.

Treacherous and fearful at times has been this lonesome way.

My heart now scarred and my body frail; I sojourn on night and day.

I have walked a thousand ugly miles Lord down this sixteen mile road.

For you see, my journeys end is near, and I’m coming home.

I’m coming home oh Lord; I’m coming home.

So give me strength Lord that I may walk upright

Keep my eyes fixed and let them not stray as I near the light.

For I have walked a thousand ugly miles down this sixteen mile road.

I’m coming home soon Lord; I’m coming home.

"...Treacherous and fearful at times has been this lonesome way"
Boy, I know the feeling!
"...Keep my eyes fixed and let them not stray as I near the light"
So trusting in Him, and in knowing how weak we are, not only in the physical sense, but within our self.
Enjoyed this write~
Love and Peace~

Exquisite balance of spiritual delicacy and power in this poem. A great deal to appreciate in its proffered strength of faith, dignity, and devotion.

Walking 1000 miles down a six-teen mile toad is giving me an excellent opportunity to think how far I've walked and what my foorprints look like to our Creator.

i think I'm okay actually and I know you are as well.

Love,
Susan

I have walked a thousand ugly miles Lord down this sixteen mile road.

Sometimes, it really does feel like that.

A prayer that is offered so well it is true in that 16 miles stretch thousands of miles you crossed. I love the trust in the Lord here. Wonderful Inspiration Allen.

Blessings,
Joselyn
