Tears Etched On Stone

Burgeoning darkness culls manifestations of the heart.

Subdued emotions drown in the tranquility.

Epitaphs render deeds thus done; tears etched on stone broken.

Life displayed in weeping eulogies, platitudes solemnly ring.

Seas roll, the wind still blows; life in death continues.

Submergence now unto this call delivers to raptures wooing.

Despair and pain forgotten, resting now upon a mortal bed.

Walking now with Jesus; days of number come to end.

Wow Allen, this reminds me of walking through Bonaventure Cemetery. Those stones, weathered by rain and wind -tears of heaven all have their stories to tell. To me, this is quite a happy one, judging by the 76 years Mr. Wilson enjoyed on earth. It's the infant headstones which haunt me the most. -Well written with poetic insight

Our days are numbered, but only in this body, if Jesus is Lord of our lives, the rest of our days, are, eternal Rock

Must be a good feeling to know where your grandparents and such were laid to rest...were you from the area you live in originally...? Ed

Wonderful depiction of how one's life ends in one place and begins in another. Brings tears for what exists and what is to come.
Thank you for sharing,
