Those woods at the State Park near the nuclear plant in Barnwell are really something

Oh Nuts

In the woods too long was I

For strange were the visions I did see.

There were birds that talked and frogs that could fly.

And a multitude of mushrooms that sung serenades to me.

Now you may think that this is a tale and it cannot really be.

For who ever heard of talking birds and mushrooms that sing?

But I’m here to tell you that it is the absolute truth

And no, the water down here is not 100 proof.

I told others about this when home I did come.

They laughed at me and said that I must have come undone.

Yet I now have proof of the strange things and odd things I did see.

No, not the mushrooms that sing, but a picture that was taken by me.

I was hiking down a trail; it was just a little afternoon.

Up ahead on a gravel path stood an alligator playing cards with a loon.

I pulled out my camera; I focused and then took aim.

They must have seen me coming because the quickly quit their game.

The gator slid into the pond and the loon took to the sky.

I lowered my camera and let out a long disgusted sigh.

Then to my marvel standing in front of a miniature carnival

stood a mama squirrel and her little son, they looked adorable.

I quickly snapped the picture you see above.

They saw me do it and simply replied…”OH NUTS”

So now you can see that it was all real and not make believe.

Birds a talking…squirrels going to school, and yes, mushrooms that sing.

No Picture but....I read Alice In Wonderland and this wonderland sounds familiar. I can't wait to see the picture. I'm on the edge of my seat.
Love and blessings!

I like this one, Allen. And hey, there are a billion people on this planet who believe a virgin had a baby! It's not far from there to hear the mushrooms singing...

Happy New Year!
