Shades Sweet Crimson
My heart called out into the night; scourged now unto a simpletons ruin.
Shades of sweet crimson laid down its spirit before me where dragons slept unaware.
White Maidens’ “dark” cried alone; fraught of loneliness in black towers of despair.
I groomed the shadows of my soul, all to be but naught in the eyes of the king.
Cobblestones pressed stealing breath; sweet shade of crimson did now I seek.
Hollow was this, my parting cry, void and held hostage where sighing spirits abide.
Delirium climbs forth and dispels this beleaguered…dying canto.
Chance not the white maidens, nor couple with the dragons den.
Lay the shadows unto this, for of these last vestiges to solemn rites.
Keep near to thy crying heart, shades sweet crimson unto the end.
