Poem Artwork

Cosmic Tongues

How should I see this diversion which cometh my way?

You speak of lessons learned and faint chances to grow.

And I see this as a chastisement of my lingering hope.

So howbeit when the darkness caresses the gentleness of your soul; you but light another candle?

You tell me of my atonement someday and it seems that you fear of naught.

I buckle beneath your courage, and yet I fear to pray for this type of strength.

You tell me to take heart and to see the glory beheld in the simple rainbow.

You speak in cosmic tongues and see a greater good.

I see no colors; and I only hear the madness of the approaching day.

From whence comes your strength, and how do I attest to your hidden powers?

I just don’t really understand; for I have given; sacrificed you might say.

I’ve followed all the rules and have abased myself before men.

I have done all to whit; and all toward nothing; but to this my soul does grieve.

I fail myself; I fail you when I can’t seem to reason the certainty of your words.

I shudder within when I speak of the bitterness that has come undone.

And I am subdued when you speak in the total-ness of our faith.

You tell me not to be troubled and with the conviction of a raging sea you proclaim…

It is said…”Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”

I am too weak and I humble myself now before your love…

Amongst all the insanity, standing humbly before God, searching for sanity, well done....

Truly - you've captured the elements of the interplay of a love fest. Where you are captor and captive. I understand this well.

Thank you, ~D.

J Allen,

Such soul searching in these lines, such humbleness - in the midst of chaos, you have to keep hoping, otherwise you'd be taken under the madswirl - keep looking to the Source of love and strength. Powerfully penned -

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
