A Simple Man Am I

Though I be weak…He is strong

Poem Artwork

A Simple Man Am I

Simple is this man oh Lord which was wrought of your hand.

You know our frame; our mind and we are but a vapor in time.

We are as you say, like the grass that grows upon the land.

Here today full and green; tomorrow withered and dried.

So why should this heart concern the makings of another day?

Only now unto you Lord should I in my trust give way.

For you knew me when I was but a whisper on your lips.

You marked my path and bring my soul unto the last eclipse.

So grant unto me foreknowledge, that I should only surrender to you.

Teach me to count my blessings and to others only goodness do.

For I am a simple man Lord and I easily lose my way.

Be forever my guiding light that I may bless others each day.

A wonderful peace. Though our body is but temporary our spirit is eternal. God Knows us. He forgives when necessary and upholds us when we need it. We have only to desire to do his will
God Bless,
Lew

If we would all learn how to appreciate our blessings and count them daily, the world would, indeed, be a much better place. Allen, this is a beautiful reminder and an inspiring poem.

Thank you!
