Thanks To My Friends

by J. Allen Wilson — Read all 1,629 poems by J. Allen Wilson

My thanks to all those in the Den and elsewhere who with sincere hearts and minds prayed and wished recovery for my wife Leah. She has made a good turnaround though the journey to complete recovery may take some time. I never said to the extent of her illness nor shall I claim any portion, but to suffice to say…she was very ill.

She has and has always had a very strong faith in God. I am a believer, but through this trial I am beginning to see more in the foundation of this spiritual truth. I am weak, but He is strong…I love, but HE IS LOVE.

Once again to all my old friends here in the den and my new ones as well…thank you all so very very much for your kindness; patience and support…God Bless You All…hope you enjoy the poem.

Set Free

Where now is the once raging darkness that blackened my days unto night?

Gone so swift is the blindness that stole not only hope, but spiritual sight.

Waylaid were we by the storm formed by secret hearts of black dominions.

Drowning once in seas of mass confusion; begging mercy by mercies reason

Deliverance comes oft in the rage; set free by the power of He.

For now, forever to be the storm subsides…

And the calm which follows soothes and caresses this oh weary soul.

For seas which once rose in angry tempest cease unto a genteel roll.

The sun sparkles and shines, peaking slowly from behind wispy clouds.

Darkness which once claimed our world shall be cast away never again to be found.
