Empty
Empty and hollow; zest sleeps in another time.
Hours on end race amongst shadows and collide.
Can’t explain the numbness, nor the separation of mind.
It’s just these empty hollow places where inward silence abides.
Encouragement comes and goes like that of a sprinkling rain.
Then again the hollowness reminds the spirit man of his pain.
Hope betrayed by confusion; a hundred lows against a single high.
Sometimes in the silence there is no place in which to hide.
Visitors come with happy smiles strained upon their face.
Small talk about the weather; hugs and well wishes beset.
But in their eyes I see the pain as I desperately seek HIS grace.
I just don’t know… seem not enough highs to battle the number of lows.
God…make this right.
For I am yours and she is mine; ask of me what you will…
Show my love your guiding light.

* Again, my thanks to all in the Den that endure this journey by our side.
(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :( >tears! <
These lines says it all:
"... Hope betrayed by confusion; a hundred lows against a single high.
Sometimes in the silence there is no place in which to hide. ...."
Feel the WEIGHT of sadness - give it to Him. He hears the groanings; He understands; He will not give you more than you can bear (although right now, you wonder - only human to question His reasonings). Powerfully penned sadness, wanting to be strong but failing - I feel this one, deep.
(((HUGS))) and love, and continued prayer for you and Leah, Karla.
Keep writing and be strong.

Thank you Allen for reading my little poem and commenting on it. That means so much to me.
