Leaves crackle beneath broken feet.
Woods graced by shadows greet.
Silence whispers like hardened stone.
One thousand miles come and gone.
Skies flicker a subdued hushed gray.
Gnarled limbs like fingers point the way.
Down by a winding stream the soul comes to rest.
Visions soar above the trees at hearts lonely behest.
Life parlayed by angst; subdued in gentle hope.
Creator begets creation; souls constantly grope.
Leaves crackle beneath broken bloody feet.
Silence like the hardened stone delivered now unto sleep.
