Many Are The Unbelievers

by J. Allen Wilson — Read all 1,629 poems by J. Allen Wilson

Just the other day someone had the nerve to me to say. “If something were to happen to your wife, would you be angry with God”? Angry with God? Now why should I be angry with God? To what purpose would being angry at God serve? I would of course be hurt…I would be saddened, but no…I would not be angry with God, but would seek ever so more what His will from this should be. For all things work to the good for those who love God…so please, just help me believe…is that asking too much?

Many Are The Unbelievers

Many are the unbelievers that storm the citadel of my heart.

They Speak words filled with qualms and sullied lines of doubt.

They understand not that God will never from us depart.

They see only with eyes of fear; only viewing the world about.

They lack understanding as I try to hold fast to my faith.

They realize not how their words sting and their solace comes too late.

I struggle day to day to keep both myself and Leah sane.

Yet I shall always believe that my hope in God will always remain.

Not asking too much, Allen, not at all. I couldn't be as strong...there are things that happen that make me angry. Not at God, per se, but why He allows those things to happen. He has His reasons...and that's when I need to ask for His Grace and strength, because I've none of my own. You and Leah are shining examples of His love, His mercy. Continue to inspire me, and say a prayer for me. I love you guys.

(((((HUGS))))) and love, Karla.

Stay safe, hear Hanna may be paying y'all a visit - saying a prayer to keep HH away.

You are a good christian as is Leah and I know the true God will keep you in his arms and do his will with you. Don't fret and worry, put it all in his hands. Believing on him is the greatest thing you can do. Believe me I know it to be true. Hope this helps somewhat.

Hello J. Allen,

Praise God for you and Leah! You are a living proof of His love and grace, the strength of character that comes from God alone, and you
are a blessing to all of us here at AD. Your poem speaks of a courageous heart and the eternal hope that passes beyond this life.

Sad write, Allen; just ignore those who don't know any better. Just stand your ground, continue to lean ON Him, and you'll come out ahead in the end. I know it's hard; you're ever in my prayers!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :(

When my son lay in a coma for three months four years ago, I was asked the very same question by more than one person...and I answered the same as you, Allen. There are those things which we cannot understand...and only He can...that is why we put our trust and faith in Him.
