What I Miss About You

I miss your smile in the morning; it always lit up the day.

I miss the way you would sing to me; I miss hearing you pray.

I miss us always holding hands; the way we did right from the start.

For I always knew when I was holding you; that you had my heart.

Oh how I miss your voice as it came to me in that child like way.

But I think that what I miss the most is when you would hold me close to pray.

Oh baby, I miss so much, I miss your eyes, the smell of your skin.

I miss our life together and I wish that it never had to end.

We had so many dreams both you and me.

We dreamed of retiring and living by the sea.

We dreamed of long walks across the soft white sand.

Yet now I only dream in the darkness of a lonesome land.

Leah…I needed to feel you so much this very night.

I found your perfume and sprayed our covers till they were misty white.

I miss you so much baby, I miss you both night and day.

Oh how I wish that I could once again hear you when you would for me pray.

Now I have no one in person…I never in all our years together made any close friends.

For I had you and you were all I needed; now this broken heart shall never mend.

I miss you so much…I think that I am going insane.

Why can’t I let you go…oh why can’t I lose this terrible pain?

I so tired baby…I am just so tired…but my sleep has been stolen.

And I walk around all the day with eyes red and swollen.

Oh how I miss the other half of me which was you.

I miss you so much and I know not what else to do.

Allen:

This is sad! The emotions are raw!!! A beautiful portrait of Leah here, and I agree she has such a wonderful smile. Be strong for yourself, and don't ever let her lose that smile.

You are going through a grieving period. Some has it longer than others. I'm still grieving for my parents from time to time. Everyone takes his/her time in grieving for loved ones. It's okay to cry, but you must be brave and strong for yourself and Leah. Don't ever let her lose that smile now.

((((( Love and Hugs )))))

I am certain that you will see Leah in the brightness and light that will shine on you in one of your days--as surprisingly as she came into your life--you will feel her continuance in your life, and it will make you smile. You will feel her as sand sifts between your toes and you take in the warmth of the sun, the only light you can see here on earth even close to the purity of your love. You feel her now in misty perfume and your heart is filled with her. Of course your heart is overflowing, yet, you manage to share a river of your words here, and we are better for it.

My feelings are about your loss of Leah too. She had a beautiful smile just like my Tom had much laughter and I miss that too after a year and more. We will have them in spirit with us always but the memories will still come each and every day. Glad you could write about her, and I do still love to look at photos of Tom, in fact have them all over the apt. and cry each day for him too. Time will heal eventually, but when? That is the question I ask myself each day too.

(((Allen))),

(((HUGS))) love and prayer - it's all I can do. :( I feel so bad for you - wish there were something more I could do to ease your pain! Powerfully expressed longing in heartbroken lines, very well penned.

Karla. :(
