Such A Liar

I walk into a room; heads turn and look my way.

“Hey Al, how are things with you” I hear them say.

“Oh I’m fine, you know me, I am right as rain”.

Oh God…I am such a liar for I try so hard to hide the pain.

I’m sick of being sick; I’m tired of playing this pretentious game.

Yet if the wax smile were to melt from my face I would leave as I came.

No one cares to hear the sounds that truly sound forth from my heart.

I don’t blame them, yet one day as all in this life rings so true.

They too will know those same sounds resounding in their own hearts through and through.

Through my writings I find some ease, yet still they fail to bring me peace.

I went out to dine, with just me and me just last night at a really very nice place.

The song “unchained Melody” was playing and soon tears streamed down my face.

The waitress came and saw the scene and in politeness queried if I was OK.

I put on my wax smile and wiped away the bitter tears and said “oh me, I’m just fine”

Oh God…I am such a liar…for I say this all the time.

I know this feeling all too well. But...as a friend used to tell me...Fake it 'til you make it...
I guess it is good advice...although I never have thought it a good idea to bottle that all up inside!

Keep writing...

Allen,
(((( Allen ))) You are always in my prayers. I also love the song Unchained Melody. Its been one of my favorites for years. I can understand how hearing it can cause pain. God be with you, my friend.

Blessings and love,

This is so heartbreaking, painful to read; I am sorry you are having such a difficult time, (((My friend)))! Know that I will be thinking of you, sending prayers up to Heaven on your behalf. Powerful write, keep on writing; you have a right to express your hurts/pain. I will listen, and I will love you, too!

(((HUGS))), much love, and continued prayers~

As always, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :( >tears! <

Through my writings I find some ease, yet still they fail to bring me peace.

Then keep writing, my friend; and we all hope and pray that peace will one day find you.

The wax smile...the pretentious game...sometimes all part of the game we play in life to protect ourselves...our feelings...the ones we love and hold close. Your writing continues to touch my heart.

Oh, Allen, the pain in these lines: I know. Why do we do this? Because we don't want the world to know our pain. Yet, we want to tell someone, but maybe afraid to? Afraid they'll say, "Get over it?" Won't hear that from me, (((my friend))).

Some days, think I've got a handle on things, and oh, boy, the rug jerked out from under - laying flat on my back, bawling my eyes out - I've been a mess since my Daddy died. Thought I was doing good and find out I'm such a liar ... yeah, I know. I'm so sorry: not much comfort today. Having problems of my own ... I'll keep praying for you if you'll wing one up for me.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
