Someday

by J. Allen Wilson — Read all 1,629 poems by J. Allen Wilson

I have thought on this for several days….for the young woman I had lunch with in Savannah the day before I left….strange enough her name>>>Leah

I felt like I was cheating on my wife, but for two hours it felt good to feel alive again.

She was 34 and I 52…guess that its true …they aint no fool like an old fool.

Someday

You blew in on a gentle breeze on an ocean of despair.

Your gentleness caressed a broken heart; your eyes said that they care.

Yet still it is I which remains caught on the winds of ill change.

I who without direction stumble and fall like a man with no name.

For a brief moment you made this sad heart smile once again.

You gave unto me a tiny glimpse that said…someday…someday

Oh but someday that I would once more be whole within.

YES SOMEDAY

You will know, Allen, when it's right...listen to your heart...it doesn't lie.

Hi Allen:

This is great!!! I'm glad you are willing to socialize. If her name is Leah too, then ust be friends for now. Never mind about the age differnce.

So glad you could socialiize a little and still remember your Leah. You need to get out and do things, Leah would of wanted that for you. I sometimes think of how nice a time Tom is having in Heaven and I surely miss him, but must go on and know I'll be with him eventually when God's plan for my life is there like Tom's too. Meanwhile keep your spirits up, keep writing, and we'll keep reading.

You is a dirty old man, but that is the greatest thing from you I have heard in a while...socializing can help, you HAVE to get into the world & out of your dark, dank "cave"...just enjoy, no guilt, no feelings like cheating, somebody I know would not want you be afraid to feel good again...sorry, I ranted...;-) ed

J.Allen,
Time will heal, my friend. You will never forget but the pain will lessen as time goes on. I hope someday you find someone that melts your heart as Leah did. I will pray for that for you.

Many blessings,
~Linda
